write a review)Louis Couperus (1863-1923) was one of the Netherlands' greatest writers. His books paint a fine picture of the world as it was around the year 1900. Couperus' most famous books are his so-called 'Hague Novels'; Eline Vere, The Books of the Small Souls and Of Old People and the Things that Pass.
The Louis Couperus Museum wants to keep the memory of this great writer alive. Couperus wrote his first novel in the very street where the museum is now housed. The museum contains countless documents and shows the visitor a glimpse into the life of the writer.
