De Plompe Toren (Tower)

Indoor activity

The Plompe Toren in Burghsluis is the only visible remnant of the lost village of Koudekerk on Schouwen-Duivenland. From this tower you have a breathtaking view over the Eastern Schelde. The tower has been turned into a visitors' centre by its current owner, Vereniging Natuurmonumenten.

The wooden door of the Plompe Toren gives access to an education attraction. The various levels of the tower give an explanation of the drowned village of Koudekerk and its surroundings. The narrow stairs eventually lead to a viewing platform at the top of this stumpy tower. Here signposts point to places of interest in the local surroundings.
